caspian international news agency / The Iranian wrestlers snatched two gold and four silver medals, receiving 62 points and won the world championship for the second consecutive year.

Iman Sadeghi Koukandeh claimed a gold medal in the 60kg weight category after beating Egyptian Ibrahim Abdelhamid.

Alireza Goodarzi won the silver after being defeated by Spencer Lee from the U.S. in the 50kg.

In the 74kg, Reza Mozaffari Jouybari snatched a silver medal by losing to Russian Nabiev Gadizhi.

Sayed Iman Hossini bagged Iran’s third silver in the 96kg after suffering a defeat to Azerbaijan’s Nurmagomed Gadzhiyev.

The 2015 Junior World Championships got underway in Salvador, Brazil from August 11 to 16.

The competitions feature the best 17-20 year old wrestlers in the world, and has been a major stepping stone for athletes who go on to win World and Olympic medals at the senior level.
