Dr. Hossein Sharifi, in an interview with Caspian International News Agency in Rasht concerning the dismissal of Amir-Abdollahian (Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs), stated “the dismissal in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not a new subject.” Following this, he added, “this issue had been raised months ago; and there had been discussions about appointing Amir-Abdollahian as Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon.”

Highlighting that in the regional media it is suggested that there is a gap between the government and the foreign policies in the region, this political expert added, “Dismissing one person in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not necessarily going to change Iran’s foreign and regional affairs.
