Head of the Elderly Secretariat:

“Gilaks” the Oldest People in Iran

The head of elderly secretariat referred to the necessity of creating practical plans for tackling population aging and said, “Gilan, with 11 % elderly population has the largest aging population among the provinces in the country.”

According to Caspian International News Agency, Farid Barati Sede at the meeting of psychologists’ community which was held with the aim of expanding the psychology services in the community, referred to the place of the elderly psychology and the importance of this period in people’s lives and said, “If we don’t predict all the aspects needed for handling the population aging crisis, we will suffer losses. In this regard, the psychology organization can be responsible for tackling this crisis in the country.”

Barati Sede stressed the need for educating consultants for the elderly and promoting the place of geriatric psychology and added, “The Gilan province, with 11 % elderly population has the largest aging population in the country.”
