Moscow: US No Longer Wants Assad to Leave

According to Caspian International News Agency, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN headquarters in Geneva, in interview with Interfax News said, “Based on our information, Washington believes that there is no future for Bashar Assad, the president of Syria, in his own country; but they have changed their stance on this and don’t want Assad to leave immediately.”

Borodavkin said, “Russia’s western partners no longer care about the stance of Syria’s opponents in Riyadh and believe that its inefficacy has been already proved and it will backfire. Americans have understood that Assad’s resignation will repeat the scenario of Libya and Iraq, in Syria.”
