According to Caspian International News Agency, Hassan Yazdani did a great job and with victory over his Russian opponent, earned a gold medal in Rio Olympics.

Yazdani, who had received a bye in the first round, in his first game defeated Castelly from Haiti 10-0, in just 65 seconds in a one-sided contest.
In his second bout, he overcame Soner Demirtaş from Turkey 7 to 0, to enter the semi-finals.

The Wrestler from Juybar faced Usserbayev from Kazakhstan in the semi-final, beat him 10-0, and became a finalist.

One of the most important events of this weight category was the 3-2 defeat of American Jordan Burroughs by Russian Aniuar Geduev. In spite of the Russian wrestlers’ making it to final, and presence in the Repêchage, Burroughs lost 11-1 to the Uzbek wrestler and failed to win a medal.
