Russia Threatens Armenia

Caspian International News Agency– On Monday, the deputy of the Committee on Defense and Security of Russian Federation Council hinted that the relations between the two countries might sour if the Russian citizen detained in Yerevan is delivered to US.

According to Russian media, a 30-year-old Russian citizen called Sergey Mironov, a computer programmer, was arrested in Armenia’s capital on Friday, at USA’s request.

USA has announced that this Russian citizen is wanted for his charges of illegal weapon trade and money laundering, so Armenian security organizations arrested Mironov in Yerevan’s Zvartnots airport.

It is expected that Yerevan’s court will be deciding about delivering this Russian citizen to US in the near future.

In the past few years, American security officers have secretly transferred some Russian citizens to this country, or they have received them by requesting a third country, and with multiple charges have sentenced them to long prison terms.

A Russian trader named Viktor Bout who was charged with illegal arm trade and Konstantin Yaroshenko, charged with drug dealing, are two of these people who have been sentenced to long prison terms in USA.

Russia has repeatedly condemned these acts of US and has declared that they are in violation of international laws.
