Caspian International News Agency– Reuters has reported that the director of the Information and Press Department of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Moscow has asked Ankara to stop attacking Syrian opposition and ethnic groups who are fighting ISIS, especially Syrian Kurds.
Stating that they are in line with Turkey in their fight with ISIS, Moscow asked the Turkish army to stop targeting Kurds in Syria.
According to Rusya Alyawm, Maria Zakharova, the director of the Information and Press Department of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated, “We direct attentions to the necessity of abiding international laws and arranging every military operation in a sovereign country with its legitimate government.”
She added, “We ask our Turkish partners to take caution in choosing their targets for fighting terrorism in northern Syria, and avoid attacking areas where opposition or ethnic groups, namely the Syrian Kurds who have joined the war against ISIS, live.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined that after a peace agreement about ceasefire in Daria, Syria, the presence of gunmen there have ended.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that the successful experience for removing gunmen from Daria will be repeated in other parts of Syria.
