Caspian International News Agency– the comprehensive national tobacco control law and the regulations regarding the ban on smoking and supplying cigarettes in public places has been approved nearly 10 years ago.
Factories, hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices, theaters, hotels, hostels, restaurants, museums, terminals, malls, cultural cites and centers, public libraries, stadiums, schools, universities, educational and research centers, holy places, mosques, public transportation, government organizations, and banks are among the public places that smoking will be banned in.
Secretary General of the Anti-smoking Society said, ” Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, municipalities, prosecutors, and the police are after fully implementing this essential issue.”
Masjedi referred to the number of deaths caused by smoking, and said, “Annually, 65000 people die in Iran because of smoking and this number is alarming.”
