Iran Ranks 8th for Air Pollution; Azad University to Turn into a Research-based Center.

The head of Islamic Azad University Board of Trustees, stating that the education issue is related with the environment industry, said, “In its fourth decade, the Islamic Azad University will be changed into a research-based center.”

Caspian International News Agency, Rasht– Yaser Hashemi, the son of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, in the closing ceremony of Reunion with Nature Festival in Rasht said, “The Islamic Azad University Board of Trustees will do whatever it can, regarding scientific researches in the area of environmental issues.”

He added, “Gilan is one of the best and most beautiful provinces in our country; however, behind this elegant appearance lays critical environmental conditions.”

The head of Islamic Azad University Board of Trustees added, “Iran ranks 8th for air pollution in the world, and this has significant effects on people’s lives.”

Hashemi said, “Many forests are being destroyed, and we are facing bad conditions with regards to surface water.”

In the area of municipal solid waste in Iran and Gilan we have unfavorable statistical conditions, and all of these statistics tell us that we need to pay high costs for solving this solution.”

In the end, he recited a message by Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, the Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council.
