Caspian International News Agency- Russian naval explorers discovered parts of a warship of the Russian navy in the reign of Peter the Great at the bottom of the Caspian Sea, and are searching for the other components of the ship.
A group of naval explorers linked to the Russian Geographical Society, during an archeological research, discovered parts of a warship belonging to Peter the Great era.
According to Itar Tass News Agency, a group of researchers from Russian Geographical Society conducted explorations in Caspian Sea beaches from September 20, to October, 2.
This group discovered some parts from a warship belonging to the Tsarist Russia in the Derbent beach (south of Dagestan republic).
Peter the Great, rose to power in Russia, in Shah Sultan Husayn period of Iran.
In this period. the king of Iran asked for Russia’s help in order to deal with Afghan’s army; however, in the following years, the two country entered war against each other, and some northern cities of Iran were under the control of Russia for some time too.
Russia’s battle with Iran was accompanied by the support of this country’s navy in the Caspian Sea.
