Caspian International News Agency– Mohammad Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of Iran, met with Lavrov and Walid al-Moallem, his Russian and Syrian counterparts in Moscow, while the focus of the meeting was the latest situation of Syrian crisis, especially the situation of Aleppo. In this regard, before the trilateral meeting, Lavrov had met and spoken with Zarif and Moallem separately.
The foreign minister of Syria told the Interfax reporter that the Syrian government is ready to start the internal negotiations again. He said that Bashar Assad, the president of Syria is ready for another ceasefire in Aleppo, provided that there will be a guarantee that the civilians can leave the town. Moallem was referring to the fact that terrorist and opposition groups are keeping civilians hostage in Aleppo and use them as human shield.
On arrival in Moscow, Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “We have always stressed the need for a complete ceasefire, providing humanitarian aid, and finding a political solution for the Syrian crisis.”
One of the important issues in yesterday’s meeting was Russian foreign minister’s announcing that the president of Syria will travel to Moscow in near future. Stressing that the three countries will continue to cooperate for fighting terrorism, Lavrov said, “Bashar Assad will travel to Moscow to meet and speak with Vladimir Putin in this regard.
In addition, the Syrian foreign minister’s statement about their readiness for ceasefire in Syria can show that the three countries present at yesterday’s meeting are trying to demonstrate that Syria and its allies are ready to find a suitable political situation, while the Western party has caused the failure of ceasefire by its inability to control the opposition groups.
