Caspian International News Agency– Council of Europe warned Turkey about the possibility of death penalty returning to this country.
According to this report, after Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s remarks, Council of Europe, which has 47 members including Turkey, warned Turkey about restoring the death penalty in this country.
One day after that Erdogan announced that Turkey’s government will ask the parliament to restore the death penalty, Council of Europe stated that enforcing the death penalty is opposed to membership in the Council.
In addition to the warning of Council of Europe, Sebastian Kurz, the foreign minister of Austria has called this move, slamming the door to the Council of Europe.
