Excessive Import has Damaged Industry Body; Reviving Small Factories Should be On the Agenda

Jabbar Kouchakinejad, in interview with Caspian International News Agency in Rasht stated, “Unfortunately, our country’s industry isn’t in a very good condition.”

He added, “Excessive imports of goods which can be produced in our country, have damaged the body of Industry.”

Rasht representative and the member of Education and Research commission of the Consultative Assembly stated, ” Unfortunately, we are not observing an economic boom in the industry. This problem has reached the body of industry in Gilan, especially Rasht.”

Stating that the quotation “We have an economic boom in the industry” by our government officials is true, Kouchakinejad said, “But the fact is something else, industry in Gilan isn’t in a good condition and this is something true and tangible. “

Rasht representative and the member of Education and Research commission of the Consultative Assembly added, “Industry of Rasht is full of problems and shortages; more than half of factories of Rasht are closed and the open ones are working with half capacities.”

Referring to the fact that the condition of Rasht’s industry is worrying, he added, “layoffs, and the increase in the percent of unemployment are consequences of the bad condition of Industry in Rasht and all of Gilan.”
