“The Salesman” Becomes the Best Foreign Film of the Year

“The Salesman” by Asghar Farhadi took the first step towards the Oscar by receiving an award from the American National Society of Film Critics.

“The Salesman” Becomes the Best Foreign Film of the Year

Caspian International News Agency– The winners of the annual awards of the National Society of Film Critics has been announced and “The Salesman” has won the Best Foreign Film of 2016.

“Manchester by the Sea”  by Kenneth Lonergan was named the best film of the year and also won the best original screenplay award.

“Moonlight” by Barry Jenkins received the best director award, and Naomi Harris won the best supporting actress for her role in this film. The award for the best supporting actor went to Jeff Bridges  for “Hell or High Water”.

The award for the best actress went to Amy Adams for the science-fiction movie “Arrival”.

“Silence”, the new movie by Martin Scorsese also won the best adapted screenplay award. this screenplay has been written in cooperation with Jay Cocks.

National Society of Film Critics selects the bests of the year by votes from academics in film and cinema. Last year, the movie “Mad Max: Fury Road” was chosen by this society as the best film.
