“The Salesman” Nominated for Oscars

Asghar Farhadi’s ‘The Salesman’ has been nominated for the best foreign-language film category of the Oscars.

Caspian International News Agency– The ceremony for choosing the final nominations of the 89th Oscars Academy Awards has been held and “The Salesman” by Asghar Farhadi has been put in the final shortlist of the Oscars’ nominations.

“The Salesman” which was nominated for the Golden Globe as well, wasn’t successful at getting the award. But at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, it won the award for the Best Actor (Shahab Hosseini) and the Best Screenplay (Asghar Farhadi).

This film has also won the special award of the juries at the 52n Chicago Film Festival.

The Salesman tells the story of Rana and Emad (played by Taraneh Alidoosti and Shahab Hosseini) who are playing in “Death of a salesman” by Arthur Miller.

Near the opening of the play, an incident puts the couple in a hard situation.

In 2012, “A Separation” by Asghar Farhadi won the Golden Globe and the Oscar for the best foreign film.

The 89th Oscars will be held on February 26, 2017 .
