This morning, a baby, resulting from an embryo that had been frozen for 14 years, was born in Mehrgan hospital of Isfahan
Caspian International News Agency– The head of Isfahan Fertility & Infertility Center has said, “This baby girl has been born after 38 weeks of pregnancy to a 42-year-old mother.
Dr. Kalantari added, “The baby’s mother had experienced two Ectopic pregnancies 25 years ago, and had lost both of her Fallopian tubes, so she couldn’t get pregnant.
The obstetrics and gynecology specialist said, “In 1381, this woman came for treatment and using In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) the eggs obtained from mother were transformed into an embryo. However, because the mother had developed cancer, the embryo was not transferred to her uterus.
After the improvement of mother, the frozen embryo was transferred to her uterus after 14 years, and after 38 weeks of pregnancy, the baby girl was born in Mehrgan hospital today.
