Iranian Apps to be Removed from Apple Store

Caspian International News Agency– Although, there’s no official Apple Store in Iran, many computer firms register their apps from outside Iran so they can enter Apple Store.

Many Iranian banks have applications designed for ios applications.

Iranians love smartphones and surveys show that 40 million Iranians use smartphones and 6 million iPhones have been sold in Iran too. Iran’s population is 82 million and its average age group is 30. Every month nearly 100,000 iPhones are smuggled to Iran.

However, transaction rules, and Iran’s sanctions prevent Apple from officially coming to Iran’s markets. News resources like TachRasa report that Apple has sent this statement to Iranian start-ups who tried to upload apps from Iran:

Unfortunately, there is no App Store available for the territory of Iran. Additionally, apps facilitating transactions for businesses or entities based in Iran may not comply with the Iranian Transactions Sanctions Regulations (31CFR Part 560) when hosted on the App Store. For these reasons, we are unable to accept your application at this time.

We encourage you to resubmit your application once international trade laws are revised to allow this functionality.
