Jabbar Kouchaki Nejad, in interview with Caspian International News Agency, said, “The beautiful region of Saravan, has been a landfill disposal site for domestic, clinical, and industrial sewage for many years”.
Stating that unfortunately, officials are not taking any serious action for solving this solution, he said, “environmental pollution in Saravan has been increasing”.
The representative of Rasht in the Assembly has pointed to the fact that the responsible officials are purifying the leachate to solve the problem of Saravan landfill, but these actions are useless. This is not done anywhere in the world”.
Kouchaki Nejad added, “They gather the waste and sewage in one place and then they purify the waste leachate. This is not done anywhere in the world”.
The Representative of Rasht stressed that incinerators are a fundamental solution for waste treatment in the world, and said, “Unfortunately, the officials do not pay attention to this point”.
The residents of Saravan should not allow this.
Stating that the officials choose the easiest solution for solving the problem of Saravan landfill, he added, “The only want to take a land from the natural resources organization and dump the waste there, and then purify the leachate which still pollutes the underground water”.
The representative of Rasht in the assembly stated, “residents of Saravan should not allow them to dump waste in this region”.
