What happened to people in Khuzestan touches our heart; To say the current situation is the result of our predecessors’ negligence is not enough

Caspress International News Agency– At the beginning of his Fiqh course this morning, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the serious problems and losses created for the people in the south of Iran because of flood and dust storms, and said, “These incidents greatly saddens us, and the authorities are responsible for battling these problems”.

Other than the flood, the cutting off of electricity, water and transportation in this cold weather, were among the other problems that he pointed to, and said, “The authorities have a duty to deal with these problems. It is the government’s responsibility to take care of the people”.

Ayatollah Khamenei, criticized those who regard their predecessors as responsible for the dust storms instead of solving this problem, and noted, “It is true that some problems need long-term management; however, to say the current situation is the result of our predecessors’ negligence is not enough, and a few years from now, others will judge us because we haven’t done anything to solve the people’s problems”.
